Woooooohoooooo *hotties*

A huge congratulations to everyone who came out for the WRW. Whether you walked 5 miles or all 39 you should feel very proud! Like they say, "Half the battle is just showing up!" Now you know when your energy flags or you reach your limit the group will support you every step of the way. Thank you to each of you for bringing your energy and compassion to the group - you all make the walk experience that much more meaningful. I hope you got a sense of the wonderful community of walkers to which you belong. Continue to stretch, hydrate, Advil and ice anything that is more that sore. Rest up this week... you deserve it!

Please be sure to scroll down for some important reminders!

Notes from your Walk Leaders:

From Sarah: We started out 54 strong on a shivery Saturday morning, nervously wondering how Day 1 of our WRW with its long mileage would go. By the time we crested Tank Hill we were confident that we are ready to go! Hooray for all of you! Special props to Charles who came all the wayfrom Concord as a solo guy walker but emerged with true Hottie spirit. And kudos to Linda, Sandy and our wonderful Phil for supporting us through the morning with yummy snacks, water and Gatorade. You walkers were AWESOME!

From Meg: What a fabulous job all of the second loop walkers did on Saturday! We had great spirit walking the 18, 20 and 26 miles! A special pat on the back to the many lovely walkers for whom Saturday was their first training walk - what a first it was! And a double pat on the back to the 16 of you who walked the entire 26 miles and came back down to the Warming Hut hooting and hollering! A special thank you to new hottie Carol who took on the role of training walk leader for the 20 mile group! Thanks to everyone for such warm and wonderful smiles for all of the miles! From Andrea: "We had 32 people on Sunday and it was beautiful. Everyone did really well and there was great cheering each other up the hills (and there really are some challenging hills coming back from Sausalito). But all of you - walkers who were out with us yesterday, the three brand new walkers who just recently registered for the walk, and all the rest of us - we did it!!!! Thank you, Eric for being there for us.

The hottie team has raised a whopping $81,856.45 to date! Keep up the amazing work! Send out an email to everyone letting them know you just did the WRW... and the event is 3 weeks away... I bet you'll be surprised that you get more donations.

ACTION ITEM! Deadline for hottie team tening is Tuesday, June 12th
The deadline was extended. Why join the hottie team? To show our colors on event (we have a lot of special hottie spirit on event), to have a community within the greater walk community on event weekend (tenting together), to compound your fundraising dollars - last year the hotties raised almost $115,000. Don't be shy, take the leap! Remember it's not a physical attribute, it's state of mind, spirit and heart. Once a hottie, always a hottie! To join the legion of worldwide hotties email Sarah, the teams coordinator, at teams.sanfrancisco@avonwalk.org and ask to be added to the team. Yes, it is that easy.

Then, email Lynn Nelson lunartiger27@yahoo.com to be included in the hottie tent section in camp Let her know your name, your tentmate's name or if you need a tentmate (we'll fix you up!)

Team shirts! We'll be sending an email very soon about ordering hottie team shirts for the event. We will order a pink short sleeve wicking, black long sleeve, pink cap sleeve. Keep your eye out for it!
