Saturday's walk was just great. 27 of us took on the Park Ave. hill and then out and back to Stow Lake in GG Park on a glorious spring morning - lots and lots of new walkers came out, many of whom are doing the Avon Walk! We saw some sort of Easter run while we were using the bathrooms at Stow Lake... 100 or so MEN... some were decked out in Easter bonnets and there was one particularly fetching ensemble of all pink including teeny pink running shorts & opera length gloves! Many thanks to Eric for fetching water, giving lifts and keeping track of us as always! It was wonderful meeting you (or seeing you again!) and hearing about why you are walking.
I found this article "10 Walking Mistakes to Avoid" very helpful. http://walking.about.com/cs/beginners/a/10mistakes1.htm There is great info and reminders about stride, posture, etc. to get our training off on the right track so we remain injury free. This website is a great resource for all sorts of walking questions and issues.
